Add a Blender model yourself or with help from AI
Your own furniture, lamp or terrace bench can help explain an idea to a client. Prepare the object in Blender, add it to Graphics, then place it in your project. Do this yourself or ask an AI agent with the right tools.
Before you start
You need the Pro plan with Graphics and 3D Graphics: Changes permission. Prepare a project with the floor where you want the object. If you cannot open Graphics or save changes, check account and project access.
On a company account, the library is shared with people who have permission. Adding a file to your own library does not publish it in the Kaldrix Catalogue. You can use the ready-made catalogue separately: choose an item and Copy to my library.
Prepare the model in Blender
- Build the object at its real size. Check metre units, scale and materials.
- Choose File → Export → glTF 2.0 (.glb, .gltf), then glTF Binary (.glb). Save the model and its images in one GLB file.
- Inspect the exported file. Kaldrix needs a GLB, so export a .blend file first. Changing the file extension is not enough.
Option names depend on the Blender version. See the Blender export guide for details.
Add the file and place it in a project
- In Kaldrix, open Graphics → 3D models → Add model.
- Choose the GLB file and inspect its preview. Enter a name and description, then save. Check the per-file limit and available space shown in the library.
- In your project, open Drawing → Presentation → 3D models. Place the object on the right floor.
- Check its size, rotation and position above the floor. Scale 1 uses the size from the file. Correct a large size error in Blender and add the file again.
- Reopen the project and check that the object is still in the right place.
A GLB model is ready after the file passes validation. Materials added separately need preparation — wait until they are ready.
Ask an AI agent to help
A connected Kaldrix plugin lets an agent add a finished model to your library and place it in the scene. To create the model too, the agent needs a separate Blender tool and access to files. Connecting Kaldrix alone does not start Blender.
- Describe the object, its dimensions and appearance.
- An agent with Blender access prepares the model and saves one GLB file with its materials. You can also give it a finished file.
- Through the Kaldrix plugin, the agent checks limits, transfers the file, and saves a name and description in the library.
- If you ask it to place the object, give the project, floor and location. The agent reads the current scene and places the object.
- Inspect the result in Presentation. Check size and position before making more copies.
Example request:
Prepare a wooden bench 1.6 m wide in Blender. Add it as a 3D model to my Kaldrix library and place it on the terrace in the project I specify. Show me the result to check.
The agent uses your permissions and the same limits as the app. If it has no Blender or file access, prepare the GLB yourself and add it manually.
Exercise: one bench on a terrace
In a practice project, add one bench model with a known width. Place it on the terrace, inspect it from two sides and reopen the project.
Expected result: the bench is in the library and scene, has the right size, and stays in place after reopening.
Check: it is above the floor, its materials look right and it does not block a passage. If the file is rejected, check the limit and export it again as a single GLB with images included.
Furniture is for presentation. It does not automatically create walls, building services points, work quantities or prices. An imported model of a whole house also does not become a building model for takeoff. Prepare the work scope separately in the drawing and estimate.
